Metaverse use case growth is on the rise around the globe as of now. For example, the UAE previously made it possible to legally binding documents in a virtual space, and many others, like Apple, have been building their own metaverse strategy.

In this slew, Japan builds a metaverse-based educational and therapeutic process to encourage students who cannot afford to attend the institute daily. Toda, Japan’s city in the Saitama prefecture, is solving the problem of growing absenteeism by utilizing metaverse tools. Students far away from school can attend class daily and explore their campus from their comfort zone. To enable Metaverse schooling and fulfill attendance sheets via participating in the virtual classrooms, candidates must first get approval from the respective institution.

While commenting on this innovative development to fight the growing absenteeism in the regime, the Head of Education in Toda, Sugimori Masayuki, expressed his vision the initiative will make the metaverse students independent and growing.

Mainly, a specific interface designed as per the educational need with an easy-to-use user interface will make the learning session more interesting and exciting. Moreover, predetermined subjects or exercises will make it easier for teachers and students to conduct a learning session more adequately.

As per the report published by Japanese public media NHK, data from government departments represents that 244,940 students from junior and elementary schools were found missing for 30 days in FY 2021.

In addition, the research found that a student of fifth graders today prefers chatting online instead of going to school to attend long-hours classes. Even the kids who were not attending the class for over two years also expressed interest in accompanying friends to play outdoor games.

Metaverse Schooling Makes Learning More Interesting

Nevertheless, metaverse technology, in this sense, does not require the learning material to be translated into a 2D book, which makes the process faster. Moreover, besides the edge of the learning material to stay original, the provision of the images helps to remember and understand the process more efficiently.

Japan is on its way to becoming a web 3 center. Recently, the Mayor of Fukuoka city, Soichiro Takashima, revealed his plan to transform the city into a virtual place. The Mayor comes to publicly announce his intentions while partnering with the country’s hardware manufacturer, Astar Network. He added

We are excited to invite Fukuoka City to Astar Japan Lab. In the US, some cities like Maimi and New York have positive attitudes toward Web3 and crypto. We are going to work closely with Fukuoka City to attract more developers and more entrepreneurs on Astar Network. In addition, Fukuoka is also known as the national special strategic zone. We plan to work closely with the government and utilize Web3 use cases from Fukuoka to the entire Japan.
