CryptoSlate wMarket Update: Ethereum posts 33 week high in anticipation of Shanghai upgrade

The cryptocurrency market cap saw net inflows of $21.9 billion and currently stands at $1.2 trillion — up 1.9% from $1.18 trillion.

During the last 24 hours, the market caps of Bitcoin and Ethereum grew 1% and 4.4% to $551.4 billion and $230.5 billion, respectively.

Over the reporting period, the top 10 crypto assets all recorded gains except Dogecoin, which fell 4.2% following its strong run yesterday. Ethereum and XRP lead the top 10, growing 4.4% and 3.4%, respectively.

The market cap of Tether (USDT) increased to $80 billion. Meanwhile, Binance USD fell to $7.3 billion, with USC Coin (USDC) staying flat at  $32.7 billion.

Bitcoin

In the last 24 hours, Bitcoin grew 1% to trade at $28,523 as of 07:00 ET. Its market dominance fell to 45.8% from 46.1%.

Shortly before 21:00 (ET) on Tuesday, Bitcoin spiked from $28,133 to as high as $28,732 – a retest of this resistance level was rejected once more, leading to a move lower.

Approximately an hour later, bulls broke through to get rejected at $28,780. BTC has since been ranging between $28,440 and $28,618.

Ethereum

Over the last 24 hours, Ethereum grew 4.4% to trade at $1,913 as of 07:00 ET. Its market dominance increased to 19.1% from 18.7%.

Ethereum followed a similar pattern to Bitcoin, spiking higher just before 21:00 (ET) yesterday to test the $1,926 level. A second rejection at this price led to a tight trading range between $1,905 and $1,918.

Nonetheless, ETH recorded a 33-week high – likely due to the upcoming Shanghai upgrade, which is scheduled for an April 12 rollout.

Top 5 Gainers

Stargate Finance

STG is the day’s biggest gainer growing 21% over the last 24 hours to $0.87298 as of press time. The token grew 30.9% over the past week. Its market cap stood at $142.81 million.

PlayDapp

PLA grew 19.3% to $0.26515 during the reporting period. The project said its “Bamboo Juice Mikey” upgrade is set for this month. Its market cap stood at $142.61 million.

BORA

BORA rose 13.8% to $0.20442 over the last 24 hours. Its market cap stood at $203.14 million.

Reserve Rights

RSR gained 12.8% to trade at $0.00473 at the time of writing. Its market cap stood at $215.56 million.

MetisDAO

METIS is up 11.8% to $28.5983 as of press time. The project released a new technical 2023 roadmap recently. Its market cap stood at $127.28 million.

Top 5 Losers

FLEX

FLEX is the day’s biggest loser, falling 19% to trade at $2.09820 at the time of writing. The token was a top gainer yesterday. Its market cap stood at $207.02 million.

MobileCoin

MOB is down 5.7% to $1.49812 as of press time. The project recently held an “Office Hours” AMA on Discord. Its market cap stood at $292.56 million.

IoTeX

IOTX declined 4.1% to $0.02975 over the reporting period. The token was a top gainer yesterday. Its market cap stood at $281.13 million.

Dogecoin

DOGE dropped by 3.2% to trade at $0.09724. The doge logo now features on the Twitter homepage. Its market cap stood at $13.5 billion.

Baby Doge Coin

BabyDoge decreased by 2.1% to $0.000000002657. ByBit recently listed the token. Its market stood at $313.95 million.
