Snoop Dogg is bringing digital weed to the metaverse

Digital weed farms are coming to Mobland, thanks to a collaboration between Snoop Dogg and popular NFT creator Champ Medici.

In a press release shared with CryptoSlate, Mobland announced that it will launch a limited collection of Snoop Dogg branded digital weed farm NFTs and some exclusive content from Champ Medici as part of the release.

Farm digital weed in Snoop Dogg’s favorite mafia-themed metaverse

Aside from being a hip-hop superstar and a music mogul, Snoop Dogg is also one of the most vocal members of the crypto industry. After building a virtual version of his real-life mansion and holding a virtual concert in The Sandbox, Snoop has switched his focus to Mobland, a popular mafia-themed metaverse regarded as the crypto version of the cult video game Mafia Wars.

Snoop Dogg isn’t the only one involved with the fast-growing metaverse — Mobland boasts support from some of the biggest names in the industry, including Terra co-founder Do Kwon, Twitch co-founder Justin Kan, and Animoca Brands.

Besides being a virtual gathering place, the metaverse enables players to participate in daily events and games, including cross-chain tournaments. The development team behind Mobland has been steadily introducing business features and new uses for land, with the release of digital weed farms being the latest step in that effort.

Snoop Dogg’s digital weed farm NFTs will be used to promote the launch of business buildings in Mobland, which are set to be released later in the quarter. Mobland believes that the introduction of business buildings will revolutionize the existing metaverse design.

“NFT 1.0 is about individual character and item, NFT 2.0 is about land and real estate, NFT 3.0 is about business and utility on top of the land and real estate.”

Mobland co-founder Roy Liu told CryptoSlate. He added that bringing digital cannabis to Mobland will help bring more adoption to the metaverse and GameFi 2.0.

Under the partnership with Snoop Dogg, Mobland will also release exclusive content from Champ Medici, a popular NFT creator.

“I saw my father play video games my whole life. Cannabis and game controllers live hand in hand with him, that’s why I think it’s no brainer to bring the metaverse and digital weed together.

Snoop Dogg said a paradigm shift is happening in the metaverse, and collaborating with Mobland and Champ Medici was his chance to get at the forefront of it.

“If it’s flipping hamburgers at McDonald’s, be the best hamburger flipper in the world. Whatever it is you do you have to master your craft. I have been mastering my craft for decades. My son showed me the importance of collaboration with MOBLAND to introduce the first-ever digital weed farms as NFTs.”

Snoop Dogg told Cryptoslate.
