LimeWire to launch original NFT collection

LimeWire is transitioning into the Web3 era with the launch of its first NFT collection.

Called LimeWire Originals, the collection will be limited to 10,000 unique avatars and will grant holders access to various utilities and perks, including the highest level of membership on LimeWire.

LimeWire Originals strengthen LMWR ecosystem

According to a press release shared with CryptoSlate, Limewire will launch the collection on Ethereum. The 10,000 NFTs will grant their holders access to members-only perks, including early access to high-profile NFT drops on the upcoming LimeWire NFT marketplace, access to real-world events and parties, and LMWR token rewards and exclusive merchandise.

Original holders will also be eligible for an exclusive drop of LMWR, LimeWire’s ERC-20 utility token set to launch at the end of the year. Tokens will be distributed evenly among all 10,000 Originals, which means that every NFT held will increase participation in the airdrop.

Aside from the token airdrop, holders will also receive tickets to every event hosted by LimeWire. Each NFT will receive one free ticket, the company said in the release. Originals NFT holders will get access to LimeWire’s merchandise, including exclusive clothing lines and accessories, with a dedicated “Originals Only” category in the store.

“Together with the LMWR token, the LimeWire Originals collection will form the backbone of our ecosystem and is designed to massively reward holders,” said Paul and Julian Zehetmayr, the co-CEOs of LimeWire. “Getting your hands on an Original does not only mean owning a unique piece of digital artwork, these NFTs represent membership to a close-knit and highly exclusive community of dedicated collectors that sit at the core of everything we do here at LimeWire.”

With this in mind, the company decided to provide its earliest supporters with the opportunity to get early access to the sale. While the purchase options for the collection will be available in phases, the sale is currently limited to members of LimeWire’s Discord channel through a dedicated purchasing platform.

Once its proprietary NFT marketplace is launched, Originals will become available to the public. The company will sell its Originals for $750 each during the initial launch. Limewire did not reveal pricing details for the community sale.
