CryptoSlate Daily wMarket Update – Oct 10: XRP leads losses as Bitcoin holds steady at $19K

The total cryptocurrency market cap saw net outflows totaling $20.53 billion. As of press time, the industry’s market cap stood at $920.62 billion, down 2.23% over the last 24 hours.

Bitcoin’s market cap fell 1.60% over the reporting period to $366.19 billion from $372.049 billion. Meanwhile, Ethereum’s market cap was down 2.79% to $157.19 billion from $161.58 billion.

The top 10 cryptocurrencies all saw losses over the last 24 hours, with XRP falling the most at 7.53%, closely followed by ADA’s 5.98% decline. Bitcoin recorded the least loss as it shed 1.97% of its value.

Tether’s (USDT) market cap saw a slight gain over the last 24 hours to $68.42 billion. BinanceUSD (BUSD) market cap remained relatively flat at $21.6 billion. The USD Coin (USDC) market cap dipped to $46 billion.

Bitcoin

Bitcoin fell 1.89% over the last 24 hours to trade at $19,054 as of press time. Its market dominance stood at 39.76% over the reporting period.

Since dipping below the $20,000 level, BTC has mostly traded between $19,200-$19,500. However, the coin printed a large red candle during the late trading hours of Oct 10, which briefly dragged it below the $19,000 mark.

Ethereum

Ethereum’s price fell 3.02% in the last 24 hours to trade at $1,280 as of press time. Its market dominance stood at 17.08%.

ETH traded for as high as $1319 over the reporting period and bottomed at $1272. The digital asset has continued to trade sideways since it completed its migration to proof-of-stake.

TerraUSD

USTC  is the day’s biggest gainer, rising 51.65% in the last 24 hours to trade at $0.05635 as of press time. The failed algorithmic stablecoin saw its value surge on the emergence of a new re-peg proposal. Its market cap stood at $543.26 million.

Huobi Token

HT gained 21.29% over the reporting period to trade at $5.28709 as of press time. Its positive performance was spurred by the recent takeover of its parent company, Huobi Global. Its market cap stood at $795.33 million.

Hive

HIVE is up 7.06% in the last 24 hours to trade at $0.57433 as of press time. The native token of the social networking blockchain has risen by over 18% in the last seven days. Its market cap stood at $253.31 million.

Energy Web Token

EWT recorded a 4.23% gain over the reporting period to trade at $3.88139 as of press time. The Proof-of-Authority (PoA) Ethereum Virtual Machine blockchain supports enterprise-grade applications in the energy sector. Its market cap was $116.16 million at press time.

Radio Caca

RACA rose 2.09% to trade at $0.00038 as of press time. The metaverse-related token has lost over 25% of its value in the last 30 days. Its market cap stood at $120.96 million.

Velas

VLX is today’s biggest loser, posting 16.49% losses to trade at $$0.04468 as of press time. The Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) blockchain has recorded a sell-off in the last seven days. Its market cap stood at $105.51 million.

Chiliz

CHZ plunged 11.7% to trade at $0.18713 as of press time. The digital sport currency has been performing poorly, losing over 8% of its value in the past month. Its market cap stood at $1.12 billion.

Reserve Rights

RSR fell by 7.51% over the past 24 hours to trade at $$0.00693 at the time of writing. RSR is down by more than 25% over the past week. Its market cap stood at $289.6 million.
