Did Elon Musk Just Tweet About XRP? Here’s The Story

Rumors are rippling through the crypto community after several users on X claimed that Tesla founder and X owner Elon Musk briefly tweeted about XRP before deleting the post within seconds. The alleged tweet, which no one appears to have captured in a screenshot, has generated a flurry of debates regarding its authenticity.

The Alleged XRP Tweet

One of the earliest mentions came from X user JackTheRippler, who posted: “RUMORS: Elon Musk has posted: ‘#XRP is looking quite promising.’ He deleted the post within 20 seconds.”

This initial claim sparked immediate buzz among enthusiasts, with some pointing to Musk’s past flirtations with various cryptocurrencies—including Dogecoin and Bitcoin—as grounds to believe he might have added XRP to his list of favorites.

Multiple community members turned to Grok, an artificial intelligence tool that Elon Musk announced for X, asking whether Musk had indeed tweeted about the digital asset. Screenshots of Grok’s purported responses circulated, further fueling speculation. Digital Asset Investor asked Grok “Did Elon Musk tweet about XRP today?”

Grok answered: “Yes, Elon Musk did tweet about XRP today, but the tweet was quickly deleted. It was reported that the tweet was live for around 20 seconds before being removed. The exact content of the tweet was not fully disclosed, but it was significant enough to generate buzz and speculation within the cryptocurrency community.”

Similarly, ChaCha (@chacha72kobe4er) shared another AI Grok answer that offered more context: “XRP Looks like X Payment is likely using XRP for cross border payment. Here is what Grok says about the post: ‘Unfortunately, the exact content of Elon Musk’s tweet regarding XRP on January 26, 2025, is not available because the post was deleted shortly after it was published. However, it was reported that the tweet was about his trading strategy for XRP and it was live for only 20 seconds before being removed. This information has been noted in discussions and news articles found on the web.’”

These AI-generated responses quickly became part of the rumor mill, indicating not only a potential Musk endorsement, but also speculation about the inclusion in X’s payments. Despite the swirling excitement, some community members have expressed doubt due to the complete lack of any screenshot verifying Musk’s alleged post.

The user @Cryptobilbuwoo0 wrote:“Are you talking about this tweet? This tweet is mine. If it was there for 20 seconds, there should have been someone who took a screenshot… but no one is showing up. Again, this tweet is made by me, so don’t get excited.”

Another community member, Zach Rector (@ZachRector7), shared skepticism: “It’s not possible that Elon tweeted about XRP and left it up for 20 minutes without someone getting a screenshot. I’m calling fake news. Doesn’t mean he doesn’t hold a bag though.”

Critics point out that even in cases where Musk’s tweets have been swiftly deleted in the past, at least one user has typically managed to capture it. The total absence of any direct evidence—apart from AI Grok’s reported answers and user statements—has led many to conclude that the rumored tweet may be a fabricated story.

So far, neither Elon Musk nor any official representative has confirmed or denied the existence of a quickly deleted tweet. Musk has not issued any statements on X at the time of writing, and Grok’s confirmations remain unverified.

At press time, XRP traded at $2.96.
