Shiba Inu Lead Dev Responds To Uncovered Role Of SHIB

The Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama has responded to a recently unveiled insight into the role of SHIB and how important it is to the Shiba Inu ecosystem. This brings to light just how important SHIB is when it comes to governing the ecosystem.

The Base Of Governance For Shiba Inu

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), a Shiba Inu enthusiast and community member revealed just how important SHIB is to the ecosystem. The community member encouraged others to actually read the Shipper (the Shiba Inu version of a whitepaper) to actually understand the role that the token plays in the ecosystem.

The screenshots shared in the post outline the actual role of the Shib Token which is to “propel our legislative machinery.” Going by the role of the legislature in government, this suggests that the SHIB token serves as the means through which laws are made in the ecosystem.

As the Shibpaper states, every SHIB holder, identified as a Shibizen, possesses an equal voice when it comes to governance in the ecosystem. “From council elections to legislative votes, the Shib token guarantees transparency and participative democracy.”

The SHIB Branch

Another part of SHIB’s role in the Shiba Inu ecosystem highlighted in the post is something called ‘The Shib Branch.’ According to the Shibpaper, this is the arm that is responsible for but not limited to, governing community proposals in the ecosystem.

Apparently, The Shib Branch is actually focused on both culture and charity. This way, The Shib Branch is supposed to ensure that the Shiba Inu project and what it stands for “continues to be a beacon to the less fortunate.”

In the post, the Shiba Inu community member asked other community members if they were aware of the unique purposes of the Shib token. While responses were limited, the most notable response came from Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama, who commented a simple “This made me smile.”

Shiba Inu Community Is Not Pleased

While Kusama’s response was pleasant, not every single response shared the sentiment. The Shib Arab Army X account quoted the original tweet blasting the poster and the lead developer. “Are you joking? Talking about democracy, you and the other fool? It’s funny how you write for society and close comments, you and your employer, out of fear of the community. Every time I laugh at you while you pretend to be compassionate,” Shib Arab Army said.

Responses under this post also mocked the democracy ‘claims’ in the original post, with one user saying; “Open the comments and let us show you what democracy look like.” Another user also expressed their displeasure, revealing that the SHIB community was not actually happy.
