2025 is expected to be an excellent year for the cryptocurrency sector. Tokenization, AI, Bitcoin adoption and corporate mergers are the key factors that are likely to support the sector this year. Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley, in a series of posts on X, openly supported the trending ‘crypto growth’ argument. Here is what you should know.

Tokenisation of Smaller Businesses

Explaining clearly how businesses, especially smaller businesses, are going to benefit from tokenisation, Horsley mentioned the potential of this to help smaller businesses to access capital markets. He also emphasised the shift from demand-side benefits to supply-side opportunities.

Recently, Brickken founder and CEO Edwin Mata, while speaking to tech reporters about the impact that RWA is going to create in 2025, stated that Real-world asset tokenisation would transform traditional markets. He projected real estate, debt and equity as the three major areas where RWA is going to make a tremendous impact.

AI Driving Tokenised Companies

Horsley pointed out that advances in AI could lead to a rise in niche businesses. He added that these businesses might tokenise instead of going public. This argument points to the possibility of the development of a new capital market.

Bitcoin Standard Corporations

Speaking about Bitcoin’s corporate adoption, Horsley forecasted that in 2025 more companies will include BTC on their balance sheet.

MicroStrategy, with 446,400 BTC, remains in the top position on the list of the top five public companies by BTC holdings. Marathon Digital Holdings (40,435 BTC), Riot Platforms (16,728 BTC), and Hut 8 Corp (10,096 BTC) are the other public companies on the list.

Mergers and Acquisitions Revival

Predicting the possibility of the revival of mergers and acquisitions, Horsely opined that big corporations like Alphabet, Amazon and Tesla could expand.

This hints that the revival could boost crypto through their market strategies.

As 2025 unfolds, crypto is set to be influenced by tokenisation, AI, and Bitcoin adoption. Additionally, the unfreezing of corporate mergers may accelerate crypto adoption.
